How to specify a 21V battery kit for hot worksites

Start with the complete system A voltage label alone does not identify a compatible tool, battery and charger combination. Before requesting a quotation, list the exact tool model, battery reference, capacity, connector and charger. Ask the supplier to confirm the combination in writing. In the ShengYi catalog, interface references preserve differences between products; they are not a promise that two batteries will fit or operate safely in the same tool.

Ask for the limits for the actual model For a hot worksite, request the operating, charging and storage limits from the battery and charger documentation. Do not copy limits from another brand into your product specification. Ask what happens when the pack becomes too hot and what the operator should do according to its manual. As one manufacturer-specific example, Makita explains that some of its chargers cool a hot battery before charging. That feature must not be assumed for a different charger.

Describe the work and the delivery destination Tell the supplier how the tool will be used, whether it will run in short bursts or longer sessions, and where charging will take place. Ask for a proposed battery and charger combination that can be evaluated as a sample. Confirm the charger input and plug for your installation. A capacity number is useful only when the pack identity and configuration are also clear.

Evaluate a sample before repeating the order Record the model references and the conditions of a practical trial. Compare useful work completed, charging behavior, handling and the operator's observations. Keep the trial within the manufacturer's instructions. Confirm what is included in the kit and how a faulty pack or charger is handled.

Prepare the transport information Ask for documentation matched to the battery design, including the applicable UN 38.3 test summary. Share the intended route and configuration with the carrier before shipping. We confirm price, packing and transport arrangements for each quotation rather than treating every 21V pack as interchangeable.
